the Rhomba (not sure how it is spelled) robot vacuum cleaner. I want one to use on my laminate floors. Is it worth the 300 dollars? Which one should I buy?

Answer by rainwriterm I think they’re called roombas, and my husband really, really, really wants one. I’ve seen a couple of demonstrations of them on QVC, and they look like they are well worth the money. Personally I would love them just because they can be set, and then you don’t have to physically do any vacuuming or sweeping. They also look like they are very thorough in cleaning, and clean better than other vacuums. Supposedly they have a dirt sensor that detects if they need to keep vacuuming or not.
I’m not really sure which one you should buy, but if you really want to spend the money you could get a roomba that vacuums, and a scooba that mops. Then you would really be set! Good luck, and let us know if they work like you expected (if you get one anyway).

Question by Soulhunter: Is unemployment an inevitable consequence of technological progress?
Technologies reaches new heights all the time, but so does the level of unemployment. I’m not a technophobe, but is it, for example, really necessary to have so many robots replacing humans in *ordinary* places? Like those robots in hospitals that clean the floor or that deliver things. These task could be done by humans, but of course that’ll cost more. So the robot gets hired and the humans get fired. And this probably will only get worse in the future. ‘Dumb’ tasks will be done by machines.
So is the rise in unemployment inevitable, when will it stop and what will the unemployed people do with their time?

Answer by lexingtonguy76 no its too many hispanics taking the low wage jobs and leaving the rest of us under-educated people of caucasion decent standing in line at the unemployment office
Bought this robot vac from a popular deal website for 9, supposedly valued at 9 – what a joke! It’s completely useless for anything other than dust. For reference the old Roomba I compare it to cost me 0 when it was new.
www.bobsweep.com Bobsweep, the intelligent floor cleaner has many advantages compared to robot vacuum cleaners. Bobsweep has many features and functionalities such as edge detection, obstacle detection, smart navigation system, ability to work on different surfaces and adjusting to them, self-charging capability (finds its charging station), etc. Bobsweep can mop and sterilize the floors at the same time as vacuuming them. Bobsweep has an extra large dustbin which is three times larger than the dustbin used on most advanced robot vacuum cleaners. Bobsweep’s brush is about 50 percent larger than other robotic vacuums which makes it clean a larger area in a shorter time. Bobsweep, can be controlled by a remote control. With three ayers of HEPA filtration, Bobsweep can absorb allergens and fine particles and reduce allergies.
Question by are you cereal?: My vacuum is alive! What should I do?
I spent good money on an I-robot vacuum cleaner (the little round one that works by itself). Well, yesterday it came up and tried to suck my toes and then today it was talking trash to me.
Should I try to send it in for retraining or get rid of it?
