Question by questiongirl: What have been your results with the Roomba Floor Vacuum Robot?
We have just purchased a new house and have all hardwood floors in the living areas, with pergo in the kitchen and ceramic tile in the foyer and bathrooms. We previously had carpet nearly everywhere and just used our Dirt Devil Vacuum. Now I am having a hard time keeping these floors dust-free, eventhough we take our shoes off once inside. I sweep all the floors every other day and mop the floors every 3-4 days. I have a full time job and two children. I can’t keep this up. I need the floors to be clean specifically for my crawling baby girl. Otherwise I could deal with a little dust every now and again.
Any luck using the Roomba System or should I just hire a maid?
Are you satisfied with the results?

It works pretty well, but you have to let it run for a long time to get everywhere. It is fun to watch.

They only do surface cleaning. Not deep down.
The compartment needs to be empty often.
The battery lasts about a year, and they are very expensive to replace.
I have owned one, but don’t use it anymore because the batteries are too expensive.

- iRobot Roomba 560 Vacuum Cleaner - Refurbished
This is a re-furbished version of this great machine. No quality has been sacrificed, however, as this robot comes fully backed by a 90 day limited warranty from iRobot. As a member of our latest generation of robots, the iRobot Roomba 560 Vacuum Cleaning Robot features the newest innovations for dramatically improved performance, reliability and durability. On-board scheduling allows you to preset up to seven cleaning times per week for Roomba to clean when it's most convenient for you whether you're at home or on the go. Roomba systematically cleans four rooms on a single charge, gets into hard-to-reach areas like wall edges and beneath furniture, avoids stairs and other drop offs and automatically adjusts from carpets to hard floors and back again. Each Virtual Wall Lighthouse (2 included) confines Roomba to one room until the entire floor is vacuumed before Roomba moves on to the next room. When its battery is running low, or when the cleaning is complete, Roomba automatically returns to its self-charging Home Base to dock and recharge. Why waste time pushing a heavy vacuum when you could be spending that time with your family? The Roomba is a robotic vacuum that cleans your floor without your guidance. The Roomba will clean surfaces from mid-pile carpet to hardwood floors, automatically adjusting its cleaning head to gather dirt the most effectively. The Roomba robotic floor vac is easy to use, but under the hood it's a complex robot featuring a high-efficiency particle vacuum and cleaning brushes that provide exceptional surface cleaning. It may be circular, but the Roomba still cleans edges and corners using its spinning side brush, which rotates outside the unit's housing diameter to gather debris from tough-to-reach spots. Just turn it on and walk away! When calling the support line for any issue, please make sure to say that your Roomba was bought from Trademark Global, which is a registered seller of the iRobot.Standard FeaturesA smart, efficient
